The aim is\nto celebrate the\ncontributions of women and promote gender diversity in statistics and data\nscience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Last\nmonth\u2019s newsletter mentioned that the IASS is also represented on the ISI Data\nScience Working Group and the Programme Committee for the the World Statistics Conference 2021. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Chris Skinner\nand Fred Smith<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Southampton\ncolleagues are planning an event in honour of Chris Skinner and Fred Smith.\nCurrent thinking is to hold it around the time of the WSC 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Corona Virus and National\nStatistical Offices<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The United\nNations is collecting information from countries to assess the impact of the\ncorona virus pandemic on Census collection that was planned in 2020. See https:\/\/covid-19-response.unstatshub.org\/<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n Conferences<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Due to the corona virus pandemic\nsome conferences have announced postponements, changes to format (from an in-person\nto a virtual conference) and suspended registration. Other conferences are in\nthe process of doing so. Where this information is available, it has been noted\nbelow.
