Cochran-Hansen Prize 2015 open for submissions

Participation in competition for the 2015 prize is restricted to young statisticians from developing and transition countries who are living in such countries and were born in 1980 or after. A paper submitted for the competition must consist of original work which is either unpublished or has been published after January 1st 2014. A paper may be based on a university thesis and should be written in English. The deadline for submission of papers for the 2015 prize is 15 February 2015. All papers must be sent to Professor Risto Lehtonen at risto.lehtonen@helsinki.fi.
Each submission must be accompanied by a cover letter, stating the author’s year of birth, nationality and country of residence. The cover letter should also indicate if the paper submitted is based on a PhD thesis and, in the case of a joint paper, the contribution to the paper made by the prize competitor. The papers submitted will be reviewed by members of the Cochran-Hansen Prize Committee appointed by the IASS. The decision of the Committee will be final.

La participation au concours est réservée aux jeunes statisticiens de pays en développement ou en transition, vivant dans un de ces pays et nés en 1980 ou après. Un papier soumis pour le concours doit consister en un travail original non-publié ou publié après le 1er janvier 2014. Le papier peut être basé sur une thèse universitaire, et doit être rédigé en anglais. La date limite de soumission d’un papier pour le prix Cochran-Hansen 2015 est le 15 février 2015. Les papiers doivent être envoyés au professeur Risto Lehtonen à l’adresse courriel suivante: risto.lehtonen@helsinki.fi.
La soumission d’un papier doit être accompagnée d’une lettre de couverture, mentionnant l’année de naissance de l’auteur, sa nationalité et son pays de résidence. La lettre de couverture doit également indiquer si le papier est basé sur une thèse de doctorat et doit préciser, dans le cas d’un papier ayant un ou plusieurs co-auteurs, la contribution spécifique du candidat au prix. Les papiers seront évalués par les membres du Comité du Prix Cochran-Hansen nommés par l’IASS. La décision du Comité sera sans appel.
